Today, we sit down with our guest Josh Tempco. Josh's life is a tapestry of diverse experiences, rooted in the Midwest and extending to the extreme reaches of the Arctic. Born just on the Indiana side of the Illinois-Indiana border, Josh’s early life was grounded in the heartland of America. However, his adventures would take him far beyond familiar territories.

One of the most nerve-wracking episodes of Josh’s life unfolded in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost point of the United States. He was there on a mission that required him to travel to Anchorage, but before he could secure his flight, he needed to pass a background check. The checkpoint seemed routine until they questioned where his birth certificate was issued. Josh confidently answered Indiana, only to be told that was incorrect. In that moment, doubt and anxiety set in as he realized the gravity of his mistake. Stuck in one of the most remote parts of the country, he was sweating bullets, aware that his immediate future hinged on this single piece of information.

The officials, seeing his distress, granted him one final opportunity to rectify his answer and validate his identity. This experience underscored how critical details from one’s past can significantly impact one’s present and future. Josh’s story is not just about a moment of panic at a checkpoint; it’s about the journey from his birth in Indiana to an unexpectedly high-stakes scenario in the Alaskan Arctic.
