Hi everyone and welcome to Bell Global Justice Institute's very first Podcast episode! My name is London and I am your host!

For this first episode, I talk about how Bell Global Justice Institute came to be, why the advancement of women and girls' human rights are important and how we have been making it happen as a small NGO. I hope our first episode will inspire you and encourage you to listen to our future episodes where we talk with guests to learn more about how they are involved in the global movement for women and girls' human rights.

Today our episode features special guest Pamela Alexnder, President of the Northern Macomb County Branch NAACP. We will talk with Pamela about her life and her work, and her legacy of servant leadership. We will also discuss the newly installed Northern Macomb County Branch of the NAACP and the goals, activities, and events of this new branch for 2021.

For our special Memorial Day episode, we are very honored to talk with Renee Nickell, Author and Gold Star Sibling to Major Samuel Griffith, USMC. Renee’s mission is to “increase awareness of the difficulties military families face, so that we can help them endure, recover and heal.” Renee’s beautiful and inspiring memoir, “Always My Hero: A Sister’s Inspiring Story of Love, Sacrifice, and Hope” honors her brother Sam and brings light to the difficult journey of American Gold Star Families.
