    This episode reveals…

😱 The surprising truth about how so many parents have ZERO idea about how their child is doing at school.

💪 Dangers of ‘catastrophising’ school feedback and overlooking your child’s strengths.

📝 How a ‘communication diary’ between teacher and parents can be the key to unlocking communication barriers.

👨‍🏫 Why teachers may choose to ‘dilute’ the information they share with parents.

🔎 Identifying the ‘quiet’ ADHD child in the classroom who often goes overlooked and unseen.

  • I'm No Expert, But...
    2024/11/04

Surely every neurodiverse family deserves to be an EPIC family? EPIC stands for Extraordinary Parents & Incredible Children.

ADHD and Autism can leave children and their families feeling trapped, shackled, overlooked, misunderstood and forgotten.

I should know, I’m a neurodiverse dad in a neurodivergent family. And I’m sick & tired of looking for ‘the answer’ when it comes to neurodiverse parenting.

So this is the launch of EPIC Families, a podcast and resource centre from Bay Paediatrics - one of New Zealand’s leading child neurodiversity clinics.

We created EPIC Families because we got p*ssed off and frustrated that so many families are waiting too long for an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, or they finally get that diagnosis, and then get next to ZERO support and guidance that is real, practical and actually makes a difference.

Because - let’s face it - if you’ve got a neurodiverse child you’re either on the spectrum yourself, or you haven’t got the bloody time or energy to sit through yet another parenting course.

Well, it’s time to think differently about neurodiversity… and it’s time to break the mould.

I’m no expert, but I’m on a mission to bring you the best experts in the world to help you become an EPIC family.

I’ve also started a free community where you can be seen, be heard, and be YOURSELF. You can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/epicfamiliescommunity
