  • 2. Moving and Picture day

    Shawna and Jen start off the episode talking about coaches being back from coaching school and how football is in full swing once coaching school takes place. Summer is basically over for coaching families. Shawna and Jen share their summer vacation excursions for the 2022 summer.

    The ladies then talk about moving and how hard moving can be. We know many coaching families move a lot and Shawna and Jen talk about the hardships of moving and a few tips to make it easier. They then wrap up the episode talking about football family picture day by going over pros and cons of picture day.

    In this episode, Shawna and Jen visit with two coach's wives from Breckenridge. Monica is the wife of the Head Coach, Casey Pearce and Marlie is the wife of the Offensive Coordinator, Jarrod Shepperd. Monica and Marlie share with us their experience at coaching school, how being short coaches on the staff effects their families and the coaches, and what they do to build continual relationships with athletes from the 6th -12th grade.

    They share great wisdom in how coaching families look out for each other and that "everybody needs somebody". Learn what they love about being a coach's wife and the best part is what they share about what they wish someone would have told them about marrying into this lifestyle.

    In this episode, Shawna and Jen get to talk to Laura Kincheloe. Laura is the wife of Travis Kincheloe and they are at Georgetown HS. She shares her life and what it is like taking 4 children to football games.

    More importantly, she shares what's important in sustaining a marriage and how to ask for help. She even has a funny cow story. Laura mentions hearing Debbie McGuire (Texas Tech) at coaching school talk about building your brand as a family. She also shares with Shawna and Jen what she and her husband do to prepare for each week as a couple.
