Catholics are often asked if they worship Mary. The simple answer is No. We do not worship Mary; we venerate Mary. We are not called to worship anyone but God; He alone deserves our praise, adoration, and worship. No one can enter the Kingdom of the Father without Jesus; Mary points us to Jesus. Our eyes and hearts, like Mary’s, should always be focused on Jesus alone.

Mary is our Mother; the Mother given to the world by Jesus at the Cross. As Catholics, we venerate Mother Mary. To venerate means to give Mother Mary the honor because of what she stands for and because she is the Mother of Jesus incarnate. In veneration, we attempt to become like Mother Mary.
