  • In the first episode of a new season, Jonny is joined by new ROYS committee member, and former podcast guest, Dr Michael Reeve to speak to Oxford Archaeology's Dr Lauren McIntyre. Lauren speaks about the programme of osteological investigation carried out on the Castle St burial ground in Hull ahead of the A63 related developments. Topics include some of the stand-out stories of the individuals buried there, a brief exploration of Hull's bodysnatching past, the impact of the covid pandemic on a large scale archaeological investigation and the career paths of archaeologists starting off wanting to be paleontologists.
