In this episode, we explore the widely accepted notion that "time heals all wounds." I reflect on how I once believed in time's healing power, and how that belief has evolved with a deeper understanding of the MindBody connection.
If you currently have the impression that time has been working just fine for you to bury the past, I'd gently ask if you have Nociplastic pain (no damage in the body -pain in the absence of structural or tissue damage, the brain is creating the sensations) and have MindBody conditions/symptoms (e.g. Migraine, headache, tension-type headache, back pain, IBS, facial pain, TMJ, fibromyalgia, pelvic floor dysfunction anxiety, depression, PTSD, long-Covid, etc.). If so, it may be a wake-up call that this strategy could be at the root of your pain cycle. I hope this video helps! x
The discussion highlights how childhood teachings about emotions shape our adult coping strategies and responses. We'll examine the defense mechanisms and distractions we often use to avoid confronting unresolved emotions. Additionally, we’ll uncover how the brain tends to keep intense emotions hidden, perceiving them as threats that could destabilize the nervous system if fully experienced. Ultimately, this episode emphasizes that true healing involves more than just the passage of time; it requires intentional emotional processing.
