Episode 1: Episode 1: Wendell Berry, The Toxicity of Screens, Human Solidarity, and Writing Poetry

  • サマリー

  • A writer called A.L. records their first podcast about language and the subjectivity of art depending on our distance to it. And about chance, the beauty of chance and connecting with something despite yourself and despite time and because of those things. The toxicity of the machine is discussed. The toxicity of screens. And the question of man's true nature residing in the eye of the sun rather than blue light.  A.L. reads an impromptu poem by Wendell Berry from the only author-approved collected works book, entitled: "The Selected Poems of Wendell Berry." The poem is #19 in "Window Poems." This reading begins around 13:15. A second poem by the same author is read near the end of the podcast: parts 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the longer poem "To a Siberian Woodsman." And thoughts are expressed for the innocent civilians helplessly dying in Ukraine and Palestine.  Link to Wendell Berry's book:https://www.indiebound.org/search/book?keys=the+selected+poems+of+wendell+berry
