Dr. Joe Brickner retired from his corporate executive position at the age of 50 to become the head men's basketball coach at his alma mater, Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. In his book, "So, You want to be a Coach..." he lays out not only what it took to be a candidate for such a drastic career change, but also what it was like to actually fulfill his dream of being a college basketball coach. He lets the reader in behind closed doors to see what it's exactly like to coach at the small college level.
