Today we are wrapping up our conversation with Josh Wilson. In this episode, he explains his dissertation research about Experienced New Teachers, who are they, and what do they need? At a time when teacher retention is of vital importance, Josh’s work is timely and vital.
Supporting new teachers has always been a priority for schools and school systems, especially as we know that two-thirds of new teachers leave the profession within the first five years of their career. Josh’s focus on experienced folks who are in a new environment is worth engaging with if we want to address the needs of some of our veterans in the profession too. This is something that the Edjacent collaborative are concerned about, and I’m pleased to say that Josh is going to be working with us on just this issue in the future. I’m looking forward to hearing more about his work in the future.
