    This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the podcast to discuss the 1984 horror (?) cult classic C.H.U.D. Yikes. This is the kind of movie that always seems to be so highly regarded amongst horror nerds, yet there is nothing here. Decent cast (half the adults from Home Alone are here) and an ok premised, but man, does this movie drag, with no actual C.H.U.D.s showing up until about the 30 minute mark. And when they do....let's just say, it doesn't compare to some of the make up effects that we have already seen, doing it better, in 1984. We find out during the corse of this movie that C.H.U.D actaully stands for 2 different things. Well, I have a thrid one. Completely Horrid, Unmitigated Disaster. But enjoy the podcast.

    This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Zach back on the podcast, as we discuss the 1984 slasher movie Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. In this installment of the Friday the 13th franchise, Jason (Vorhees, not our beloved host) is finally put to rest by the combined might of Corey Feldman and Crispin Hellion Glover, in what is sure to be the final movie in the series (spoiler alert, there are 8 more F13th movies after this one). This is a high-water mark for the franchise as far as star-powered cast goes and future Seinfeld guest stars for that matter. It is also a fun romp to boot, if horny teens getting slaughtered by a masked psychopath is your idea of fun. Based on the scores we all gave it; it seems that is our idea of fun. Enjoy the podcast.

    This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Anthony (calling all the way from Colorado) back on the podcast to discuss the 1984 schlock slasher horror film Splatter University. This is barely a film. Apparently, it was only 65 minutes long, so they decided to "pad it out" to feature length, all for our benefit. There ain't a lot to like in this movie. Sandwiched in between franchise starters Nightmare and Children of the Corn and franchise ender (the first of many) Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (spoiler for next week) we have this dreck. Look, there are tons of bad, cheap horror movies out there, and this is one of them. Why did Anthony pick this movie to come on the podcast? There are tons of great horror movies this year. This question and many others will not be answered on this podcast. Enjoy.

    This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mac back on as we discuss the 1984 Stephen King adaptation Children of the Corn. That's right. They took an 8 page short story and made an 11 movie franchise out of that. And it is apparent from the first movie that they have to stretch things out, as Sarah Connor and some dude drive around for about an hour just looking for trouble as they pad this out to make it a feature length movie. And the casting call must have said something along the lines of "If you have a strange looking kid, bring him to the audition" cuz there are some strange looking kids in this one. Anyway, we still had fun disucssing this trainwreck as we continue on with our early Halloween deep dive. Beware of the Man who walks behind the rows, and enjoy the podcast.
