He took a friend new to the flamenco scene to a first of its kind experience of attending the festival and taking it all in.   • Andalucian symphony - Manolo Sanlúcar

    Manolo Sanlúcar transformed the flamenco guitar into an Andalucian symphony but always retained its roots. He came from a family of bakers but ended up being admired internationally. His fans include big names such as the Spanish Prime Minister Felipe González, the film star Omar Shariff and opera singer Montserrat Caballé. Lebrijano is one of the most famous Gypsy flamenco artists and the son of La Perrata – the cousin of Fernanda y Bernarda de Utrera. He also has family ties with La Niña de los Peines, and recorded with all the big guitarists.
