She holds a bachelor's in public policy, management, and planning from the University of Southern California, a master's in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and an M.Th. in applied theology from Oxford University. Denisha Allen is a Senior Fellow at the American Federation for Children and Founder of Black Minds Matter. She previously served as School Choice and Youth Liaison to the Secretary of Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Denisha is a Florida tax-credit scholarship graduate and now sits on the board of directors for Step Up for Students. She has shared her story across the country and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Examiner, EducationWeek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Fox News, among other outlets.

Brandy Shufutinsky is a social worker, writer, researcher, and advocate. She holds her Doctorate in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco, her MSW from the University of Southern California, and her MA in International Relations from the University of San Diego. Dr. Shufutinsky has worked towards advancing the rights of victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through practice, education, and research, and is now focusing her advocacy on developing intercultural and academic opportunities to enhance liberal democratic ideals as the director of education and community engagement with the Jewish Institute for Liberal Values.
