  • Episode 19 - The one with Agony Aunts, Electric Cars and Friend-zoned and sustained
    2021/08/24

This week we look at the inefficiencies of petrol cars and search nature for something as equally un-parsimonious with its fuel. We shove Frère Jacques through our anagram poetry section that we call My Taragon Pea. Whilst Barry suggested Electric cars, Sam proffered Friend-zoned and sustained where we look at the hapless characters stuck  literally forever in the friend zone. We have another new section where we look at what's happening down on the farm but literally the last section looks at the original agony aunt whose advice was dispensed for a thousand years. Take that Deirdre.

  • Episode 18 The one where we show that supermodels only weigh 1Kg, Nanci Griffith needs some help with alternative coping strategies and we try and identify all the influences for A Knights Tale, film, poem and poem.
    2021/06/09

Our Brainy Lecture looks for mass and finds it in the most surprising place. In Songs under the Microscope we explore Nanci Griffith's response to a setback in her 1993 hit Tecumseh Valley. Unlike every other podcast we are in colour, and the colour this week is Bastard Amber so point your browsers at Pantone 148C.  Our section that goes by many names including  A Greyer Tampon and Mangy Port Area considers the Anagram form of the poem Fi by Pudgy Rail Drink.  A Sauce a Sauce My Kingdom for a Sauce is going to be a mouth amusing Sichuan Sauce. In Literally the Last Section we review the film A Knight’s Tale and how Helgeland wove the Canterbury Tales, Chaucer and the Arthurian Legends into the plot.

  • Episode 17- The one where statistics show that the world probably does to exist, we prepare a sorrel sauce for Yorgos Lanthamos’s The Lobster. and Kafka's monstrous insect. All this in Pantone 715C
    2021/06/02

This week our Brainy lecture considers Boltzman Brains and shows why, on balance, you probably do not exist. Well, you do, but no one else.  The Metamorphosis and The Lobster have the super plastic human mind dealing with absurd propositions whilst still trying to get to work on time. Yorgos Lanthamos was silent about the sauce that would be served with the lobster, but we are serving it with a tangy sorrel sauce. Our misheard lyrics have had me singing “Might as well face it, you’re a dick with a glove” all week.

This week's podcast is sponsored by the rhythm hailing app, Tuba.
