In this episode, we'll talk about the famous story of David and Goliath from 1 Samuel 17:33-50. Today, let's look at this young lad who has no experience in the field of arm combat but was trained only as a shepherd. If he loses this fight against Goliath the giant, then the entire nation of Israel will be paying the most humiliating penalty by becoming slaves to the Philistines for life and for all their generations to come. Basically, the fate of Israel’s future is now in his hands.
I pray that this episode will help us learn from David, a poor country shepherd boy, whose only credential is his experience with God.

Today's devotion focuses on Jacob, later renamed Israel, who faced many struggles in life. We'll talk about his dark past (Gen. 27:21-23) and how he resolved it. I pray that if you identify your struggles with him, you may be encouraged and learn from him.

Are you going through a storm right now? Scripture assures us to be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). In this lesson, may you be inspired to allow Jesus into your boat and calm the raging seas.

Join me in today's devotion as we learn about God's love for His faithful servant Elijah in the midst of drought and how he provides for him in ways we do not understand or expect. Although they may come in pieces, crumbs, or in a handful of flour, God's provisions never end. Like He did for Elijah, God continues to love and cover you under His wings and He is ever faithful to sustain you.

In John 6:35, Jesus says, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” What did Jesus mean when he said that? In the Old Testament, the Israelites are repeatedly portrayed as the vine (Ps. 80:8-18; Jer. 2:21; Hos.10:1-2). It is significant that whenever Israel is referred to as the vine, or sometimes as vineyard, it is also being judged for its barrenness (Jer. 2:21; Isa. 5:1-7). But in the New Testament in John 15:1-8, Jesus portrays himself as the true vine in contrast with Israel.

Today, let us be challenged to ask ourselves, "Where do I put my faith and trust? Are fruits evident in my life as a follower of Christ?" Join me in this short devotional lesson as we dive in to and reflect on these questions.
