  • 3 Dads Walking... and Talking
    2024/03/29

Just before they set off on their third walk, Tim, Mike and Andy of the 3 Dads Walking hang up their boots and have a sit down to chat about memories of their previous walks across every corner of the country, their incredible fundraising of over £1 million which greatly supported PAPYRUS' HOPELINE247 helpline go 24/7, their Pride of Britain award, and most importantly their three daughters Emily, Beth and Sophie that they sadly lost to suicide.

The Dads set off on their 'Walk of Hope 2024' on the 17th April. Starting at the Stirling PAPYRUS Office, their 25 day trek takes them down the east of the country to finish at Norwich Town Hall on the 11th May. To come and cheer them along the way, find their route tracker here: A Walk of Hope 2024 — 3 Dads Walking.

Sophie from HOPELINE247, Lucy Oliver from Merseyside Youth Association and Siobhan Keating, a young person's advocate, all discuss the importance of encouraging young people to speak up and find the power in their own voice.

In light of a new video campaign between PAPYRUS, MYA, YPAS and CAMHS, this episode also discusses safety planning, a collaborative tool between a young person who is struggling with thoughts of suicide and a trained suicide prevention adviser, describing what one is and how it works.
