Healing Religious Trauma to Feel Worthy of Love with Taryn Raine - Ep.36

  • サマリー

  • TRIGGER WARNING: Molestation, rape, and domestic abuse mentioned.

Today’s episode is for anyone who grew up in a strict religious home. Or maybe you just grew up as a woman in this effed-up society, because that’s traumatizing enough!

Basically, this episode is for you if any of the following beliefs have stopped you from claiming your highest love:

    • Women make men do bad things. We are naturally shameful for being sexual creatures.

    • The most honorable role for a woman to be a wife and mother. It’s selfish to make your other desires or needs a priorty.

    • Sex is for having children. Anything outside of that for pleasure is shameful.

    • Or the big one: I did something wrong, and it’s totally my fault.

When we grow up learning a very black and white system of beliefs as children, it’s impossible not to carry them through into our adult relationships. And even if, on some level, even if we have chosen to create new beliefs, we are plagued by a shame that even weekly confession can’t treat.

But what if the mindset work isn’t about the specific religious beliefs themselves? What if instead, the real flex is in changing the way you relate to your own shame?

Today self-belief and anxiety coach Taryn Raine explains the subtle ways religious trauma can impact you as an adult and the connections you make, along with what to do with this awareness. It turns out that being raised in a strict traditional religion, like evangelical in Taryn’s case, causes developmental issues thanks to some hefty built-in trauma.

Learn the steps that Taryn took to let self-love be stronger than her shame. 💪

By the end of this episode, you might begin to see that the entire idea of shame is utter bullsh*t. You are the only one who gets to determine your worthiness. We all belong in this universal dance of light, dark, chaos, and harmony. There is no such thing as judgement when you appreciate your beauty in all its expressions.
