Helping your autistic child with back to school anxiety

  • サマリー

  • Sending your kid back to school can sometimes feel like sending them to a war zone. And for some, their nervous system will react as strongly as if that were actually happening, because the brain of a child with PTSD from school is not. much different from the brain of a veteran with PTSD from war. But PTSD and other anxiety conditions are not permanent states, and there is a lot parents can do to heal our kids’ educational wounds.

Welcome to The SEND Parenting Survival Guide podcast, guiding you through the SEND parenting maze. My name is Esther Freeman, and I teach people the techniques and principals that helped my daughter go from five or six violent meltdowns a day to zero. This weekly podcast will help you create a calmer family life too – so subscribe wherever you get your podcasts to make sure you don’t miss an episode.
