Volunteer apathy can be discouraging—especially when you care deeply about your people and the mission. In this episode, we talk honestly about how to discern what’s really going on when volunteers seem disengaged. Is it a vision issue, a leadership gap, or simply a role that isn’t the right fit? We explore the importance of knowing your why, communicating it clearly, and creating volunteer roles that invite ownership without placing unrealistic expectations on people.

We also discuss what it looks like to become leaders volunteers feel safe and excited to follow, and how to lovingly navigate difficult conversations when a volunteer relationship needs to change. With grace, clarity, and reflection from our own early ministry experiences, this conversation is meant to encourage pastors and ministry leaders to lead volunteers with wisdom, humility, and care.

We can't believe this is the final podcast for This is Friendship. If you've listened to all four episodes, we are so thankful you went on this journey with us.

In Session Four, we will discuss walking hand in hand with joy and grief in our friendships. Learning to let our friends share in the highs and lows takes practice and a willingness to be vulnerable, but the reward of sharing with our friends the honor of sitting with us through our joy and tears is God’s very good gift of community.

We are back for our third week of This is Friendship for teen girls!
