We loveeeee a guest on the podcast, especially when she is passionate about seeing women and teen girls break free from the bondange of sin. In this episode, Elizabeth Woodson joins us to talk though her new Bible study for teen girls and what it means for girls to Live Free.

This episode addresses questions like: What are girls wrestling with? How do we come alongside them to find healing? And how is it that we ourselves so quickly forget the gospel message we teach?

And don't worry, this isn't the last episode of the season (even tho that's what Amanda said!). We wanted you to hear from Elizabeth sooner as her new Bible study for teen girls released July 1! Check it out HERE!

When's the last time you had a DTR? And no, we aren't talking about dating on this episode! When's the last time you defined the relationship you have with the parents in your ministry?

If we believe parents are the most important disciple makers of their students, where do we fit into all of it? How can we champion parents without them thinking we are trying to replace them? What are ways we can invite parents into what God is doing inside our ministries?

We are answering these questions and more with our Lifeway friends and authors, Zac Workun and Chad Higgins.

We were a bit ambitious thinking we could cover The Anxious Generation in just one episode. In part one, we explored how smartphones contribute to social isolation and sleep deprivation.

Now in part two, we’re diving into the costs of attention fragmentation and the addictive nature of social media. So if you’ve ever asked yourself, How can I help my students develop longer attention spans and resist the pull of addictive tech? — this episode is for you.

If you haven't listened to part 1, you can just scroll back to Episode 62!

How can youth leaders help dads step into their God-given role as spiritual leaders in their daughters’ lives? In this episode, Kyle Olund (Corinne's DAD!) joined us to unpack the importance of inviting fathers into ministry—not just as volunteers, but as primary disciple makers of their teen daughters.

Many dads feel unsure of how to connect spiritually with their girls during the teenage years, but with intentional support from youth ministries, they can grow in confidence and influence. Let's engage, encourage, and empower the dads in your ministry to lead well at home and stay present in the lives of their daughters.

Amanda had the opportunity to sit down with two of our SBC state partners at Southeast Conclave this past January. The goal of the conversation was to hear what they are seeing with teen girls, women in youth ministry, and the gaps of girls ministry. This interview with Dan Gibson and Lee Myers was so fun and so sweet, and we are so grateful for their partnership and commitment to reaching teen girls and championing women in youth ministry in Missouri and Louisiana (and beyond)!

If you serve in an SBC church and want to meet the Next Gen specialist for your state, we'd love to help get you connected! Just reach out to us at girls.ministry@lifeway.com.

  • 62. Social Media, Phones, and a Review of the Anxious Generation, Part 1
    2025/04/29

    Send us a text

The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt has become a popular book among parents, leaders, and anyone investing in the next generation. And while Haidt isn't a believer, the statistics he shares about the connection between phone-based childhood and anxiety is worth looking at. The impact we are seeing with teens (especially teen girls) is undeniable.

However, we'd be mistaken to say social media and phones is only a teenager problem. Let's talk about the costs that come with these things and boundaries that we can put into place... today.

Don't worry, we'll be back in Season 7 for part 2! In the meantime, grab your own copy and let us know what you're learning. Feedback and questions can be sent to girls.ministry@lifeway.com.
