He says…

“Are you tired? Worn out?...Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me, work with me—watch how I do it…. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Do you want what Jesus is offering? It requires letting go of what is preventing peace in your life- everything that keeps you distant from the relationship with God that you were created for. If you’re ready to put that away, pray with me now:

Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to set me free and wash away every wrong thing I’ve ever done. I let go of my old self, all of my sin. Raise me to new life, give me true rest. Let my new life in You begin right now. Amen.

God, I need Your water of life. Will you please forgive me? Jesus, I believe You that You died for my sins, that you rose again with power and I make this choice to give you my life and I receive Your gift of eternal life. Amen.

Whether you’re aware of it or not, God sees you. He is the one who made everything, the creator of the universe, the most powerful one, and He sees you.

It’s about so many things, but yes, it’s true! The Bible talks about all the people of the world…our struggle, the love God feels towards us, and the good plans He has for us.

When Jesus entered the world as a baby, the angel announced that it was Good News! Not just for a few people, not just for those who were religious. The angel declared that this news of Jesus’ birth would bring great joy to all people.

And that, of course, includes you!

You might be thinking, “What does the birth of Jesus have to do with me?”

Well, Jesus came for a purpose. He came to draw all people to Himself. He came to offer you a fresh start and a new life. He came so that you can be forgiven of your sins, and begin a free life, strengthened by a powerful friendship with the Living God.

I can think of so many books that have influenced my thinking, inspired me, and blessed my life.

And I know it might sound crazy, but there is one book that claims to do what no other book can do:

• To cut into the heart like a double-edged sword, dividing between soul and spirit.
• To contain the words of life.
• It even contains a powerful message that can lead us to spiritual rescue.

That book is the Bible. It contains God’s offer of new and unending life, freedom, love, companionship, and deep peace.

The Apostle Paul spoke about it this way:

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes…

Try reading the Bible today. It can change your life AND your eternity.

It’s not just a book. It’s God’s most direct way of revealing to us who He is, and telling us the story of who we are and who we’re meant to be in this world! It gives us a purpose.

The Bible describes God as the author of all life. That means He is writing the story of your life too. And your story is still unfolding!

Listen to this opening line from the book of John…

In the beginning, there was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

The “Word” that was with God at the beginning of time was a person- it was Jesus.

Jesus is often called “the Word” or “the Word of the Father.” Jesus walked the earth as God’s Son and His messenger, delivering God’s offer of new life, eternal life, to all humanity.

Doesn’t that make you curious? You can read the Bible for yourself to find out what Jesus was really like. You can read the book of John today. You might find that God is stronger, kinder, and much more beautiful than you ever imagined. And His offer of life? It’s waiting for you.
