    Dr. Erica Zelfand is the executive director of Right to Heal, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering people around psychedelic healing and other life-saving techniques that conventional medicine has ignored.

    Dr. Zelfand’s training and skill set span the spectrum of both conventional and natural approaches. She treats people of all ages and stages of life, from newborns to those approaching the end of life. Areas of focus within her family practice include: autoimmunity, endocrinology, and integrative mental health. She is deeply committed to patient-centered, root-cause-oriented, nature-honoring approaches to healing.

  • Ep. 74: "Friends Don't Let Friends Get Male Goats!"; Meet Dr. Gabrielle Wimmer
    2024/12/10

    Dr. Gabrielle Wimmer has been an Upstate New Yorker for her whole life; born and raised in Central NY, went to undergrad at Houghton College in Western New York, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine(c/o 2022) in the Finger Lakes, and now practices in the Mohawk Valley. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age, and always loved farm animals. She now sees a variety of species (ie cattle: dairy and beef, horses, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, llamas, alpacas, pigs, deer, etc) as an associate at a pretty traditional mixed farm animal ambulatory practice, working in both production and pet settings (also does some small animal spay/neuter relief on the side and small animal at home euthanasia). She enjoys living in a quiet rural area with her husband and their three cats: Merry, Lucy, and Tumnus.

    A Sacramento native, Dr. Maryal Concepcion (she/her) MD FAAFP is a Filipinx creator and connector. She is a mom to two young boys and married to a fellow rural family physician. She is the founder and host of the podcast, My DPC Story, and features direct care physicians. In September of 2021, she opened Big Trees, MD, the first Direct Primary Care in Arnold, a rural town of 4,000 in the Stanislaus National Forest, located in Northern California. Her clinic was created as a micro practice telemedicine and home visit model and, after overhead was met, she branched out into renting a brick-and-mortar space for her DPC.

  • Ep. 70: Compounding Medicine for House Call Vets; Meet Pharmacist, Dr. Lauren Forsythe

    Dr. Lauren Forsythe is an Assistant Professor at the University of Findlay College of Pharmacy. She is also a diplomat of the International College of Veterinary Pharmacists. Dr. Forsythe graduated from the University of Findlay, College of Pharmacy in 2015 and completed her veterinary pharmacy residency at Purdue’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She earned her MBA in 2024 from the University of Illinois. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Forsythe spent three years at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist followed by four years at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy Service Head. In addition to her teaching position, Dr. Forsythe is a co-author of the book Drug Compounding for Veterinary Professionals and provides consulting services to veterinary practices through her company Foresight Pharma Solutions. Her services are based on pharmacy-related needs such as controlled substance regulatory compliance, compounding, hazardous drug handling, and medication error prevention.
