Tomato plants can be grown easily in your home, whether you have a garden or just a balcony and it is very rewarding. First of all, decide which tomato to choose for your area and your taste preferences: determinate varieties grow in bushes, and indeterminate ones climb and spread. Growing your plants indoors is recommended to be done about six to eight weeks before the last expected frost that is hard in your area. Fill small containers with a good quality seed starting mix and make sure that the container receives ample light and heat since tomatoes grow well in media that has been warmed to 70-75°F (21-24°C).
When the planted seed has germinated and the seedlings have grown about 2 inches and produced the first sets of leaves they are ready to be transplanted into new pots or directly into a garden.
