I'm So Not Over It

著者: Gareth Gwynn & Esyllt Sears
  • サマリー

  • I'm So Not Over It is a comedy history podcast about things you'll remember from the first time round.

Each week comedy writers Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears explore a different month in history – but with a brief stretching from the mid-70s to the present day. Basically, if you could see it, it would be in colour.

It’s politics and pop culture for the eighties, nineties, noughties and beyond, delivered in 20 minute hits because we know what your attention span is like.

So if you remember Westlife but struggle with the Westland affair and if your favourite Aitken was a Tory MP or the one who co-wrote I Should Be So Lucky, we’ve got you covered in this ridiculous historical guide to the information age (even if that information came from a poorly recalled browse of Encarta ‘95).

These weekly episodes are interspersed with interviews with the people who lived through this period to understand whether it has had any bearing on the lives they lead today.

The perfect listen, whether you’re Generation X, Gen X, Xennial, Millennial, Generation Z, Gen Z or whatever Pepsi wants to call you.

I'm So Not Over It is brought to you by the team behind the award nominated Xennial Dome Podcast - Previous guests on that show include Nish Kumar, Jess Philips MP, Trevor & Simon, Isy Suttie and many more and those episodes can be found on the same podcast feed.

I'm So Not Over It is a Mighty Bunny Production.

  • March 1995 (Ooh, Aargh! Cantona!)
    2025/03/11

Looking at our episode title now, I refuse to believe we are the first people to use that pun. After all, Eric Cantona kicked that Crystal Palace fan during the glory days of the tabloid press - back when you could write a pun like that, go home and enjoy your six figure salary (I expect). Anyway, while the infamous Cantona fly-kick happened in January, the court case took place in March, as did the Academy Awards - so we mention that too.

  • March 2017 (£1)
    2025/03/04

We've checked and, yes, this is our most modern episode to-date, so you're forgiven for thinking the new £1 coin only appeared recently, or for not realizing that you've already seen your final Crimewatch. Esyllt Sears has the lowdown on both of these things, as well as making her pitch to join the police force.

  • February 2004 (Yes, February 2004. Again)
    2025/02/25

What happened immediately after the Super Bowl half-time show?

How much money do you get for whipping your clothes off at a major sporting event?

And how DO you pronounce "Houston"?

It turns out there were a lot of unanswered questions after last week's show. A whole episode's worth, in fact. As such, Esyllt Sears is tackling February 2004 all over again. Yes, it's another wardrobe malfunction at Super Bowl XXXVIII - but not the one you're thinking of. Get set for another 20+ minutes about February 2004 (and, once again, Gareth Gwynn has cut out all the bits about WMDs).
