  • Day 80 – Building a content plan
    2023/09/12
This week I'm thinking about ongoing content marketing for Bramble. Blogging, podcasting and email seem to be the best ways I can market what Bramble offers, so the key now is balancing the time I have available with the ideas I have to create valuable, useful, informative, and – dare I say it? – entertaining content. Also a quick update on where the platform is, and how the mini-launch went.

  • Day 71 – The pros and cons of using off-the-shelf website templates
    2023/09/03
There's a sneaky issue we've been contemplating over, which surprisingly many of us tend to overlook. Off-the-shelf website templates—we've all seen their attractive layouts and design elements, right? They seem like a quick, efficient solution for creating a professional-looking online presence. But, there’s a catch. Here's a different perspective that we've come up with. Templates are not a one-size-fits-all solution. They sure are visually appealing, but they might not always tell your unique story effectively. Instead, we suggest building a website that empathizes with your audience, showcases your expertise, and convinces visitors about the compelling solutions you offer. Remember, the aim here is to guide your visitor from "this is about you" to "this is about us". Implementing this seems like a daunting task, doesn't it? Let's break it down. Start by understanding your audience's needs and wants. Show them that you grasp their situation. Next, present your expertise in a way that doesn’t overpower their narrative. And then, introduce them to the unique solution you provide. The secret sauce here is balancing the aesthetic appeal with the core message your brand wants to convey. Here's a wake-up call. Stick to a template, and you risk ending up with a website that serves looks but doesn’t necessarily connect with your viewers. The visually appealing design might catch their eye initially, but it won't hold them long enough if it doesn’t sync with their expectations or answer their queries. A beautifully designed yet impersonal website is just as good as throwing your brand into an uncharted sea. So, let’s get moving, shall we? Step away from the allure of off-the-shelf templates. Take a moment, understand your audience, and weave a website narrative that reflects the unique journey that your brand promises. Remember, we don’t need to be master coders to create a website that speaks volumes about us. It’s all about thoughtfully aligning our brand story with the visitor’s journey. And trust us, it’s definitely worth the effort!
