  • 52. A new perspective on Discomfort: using discomfort as fuel to pursue your dreams
    2024/02/05

In this episode, I give discomfort a much needed rebrand. We’re so used to viewing discomfort as a feeling to avoid, and as an indicator that we must be doing something wrong. In this episode I flip this paradigm on its head: what if we used discomfort as our north star? Discomfort is an important indicator that we’re heading in the right direction, and I take the episode to explain this. I share personal stories and insights on how to shift our thinking and embrace discomfort as a part of the human experience. I discuss reclaiming the words selfish and lazy and shifting our mindsets to view discomfort as a positive indicator. I end the episode offering a free Overwhelm Audit for those who want to make a necessary shift in their lives.

  • 51. The Power of Saying No: how to set boundaries and be at peace with them
    2024/01/22

Today’s episode is all about the power of saying 'no' and setting personal boundaries. I explore how the fear of being seen as rude or unlikable, coupled with societal expectations of compliance and people-pleasing, can result in chronic over-commitment and burnout. I detail practical advice on how to navigate this saying no: this includes taking time to reflect before responding, being aware of one's feelings and thoughts when asked to do something, and being brave enough to decline when necessary. I highlight the importance of these skills in preserving personal wellbeing and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

  • 49. How to set Realistic Goals and New Year's Resolutions
    2023/12/25

With 2024 on the horizon it felt prudent to discuss resolutions, why they fail, and how to make better ones. At the core of every goal is desire and good intention. Despite this, many of us don’t stick to them. There is a self-critical narrative around failed resolutions but the truth is that not sticking to them isn’t a personal failing - it’s a structural one. In today’s episode I discuss how our approach to resolutions set us up for failure and self-blame. I outline the common pitfalls of goalsetting while offering a more fool-proof, affirming methodology. I invite you to adjust your thinking, examine your desires, extend your timelines and restructure the methods used to achieve your goals. I discuss self criticism, perfectionism and critical vs. affirming goalsetting.

This is the last episode of the year, thank you for your listens, support and podcast reviews! If you feel group or private life coaching could help kickstart your 2024, please get in touch via my website.
