Issue #34 Something Is Killing The Children, Catalyst Prime: Seven Days, Marked, Joker: Year of the Villain

  • サマリー

  • (Brian's Pick) Marked from IMAGE COMICS written by David Hine with art by Brian Haberlin

The Marked may look like cool young influencers, but beneath the designer clothes, their bodies are tattooed with the magical glyphs of an ancient order that secretly protects the world against evil forces. With no new occult threats, The Marked use their tattooed powers solely for the pursuit of pleasure until a young woman called Liza creates a dangerous new form of Hybrid Sorcery. The party is over for The Marked. You'll believe in magic -- terrifying, soul-destroying magic.

(Rebekah's Pick) Catalyst Prime: Seven Days from LION FORGE COMICS written by Gail Simone with art by José Luís and Jonas Trindade

DAY ONE: Lorena Payan was the first to realize a meteor was hurtling towards Earth two years ago. Now, she's the first to realize the Earth is in danger once more from something equally cosmic but far more sinister. As dubbed by a mystery figure, the Obsidian Men begin appearing silently all over the globe, and our heroes Noble, Summit, and Accell join together to investigate.

(Rod's Pick) Joker: Year of the Villain from DC COMICS wrtten by Anthony Burch and John Carpenter with art by Philip Tan

In the Year of the Villain, what's a Clown Prince of Crime to do when the world has started to accept doing bad as the only way to live? Out-bad everyone else, of course! The Joker is on a mission to get his mojo back and prove to the world that there is no greater villainy than the kind that leaves you laughing.

This special one-shot is co-written by legendary film auteur John Carpenter (The Thing, Halloween) and Anthony Burch (the Borderlands video games), making for a Joker comic that's twisted in ways you never imagined!

(Joe's Pick) Something Is Killing The Children from BOOM! STUDIOS written by James Tynion IV with art by Werner Dell'Edera

GLAAD Award-winning writer James Tynion IV (Memetic, Batman: Detective Comics) teams with artist Werther Dell'Edera (Briggs Land) for an all-new limited series about staring into the abyss to find your worst fears staring back.

When the children of Archer's Peak begin to go missing, everything seems hopeless. Most children never return, but the ones that do have terrible stories-impossible stories of terrifying creatures that live in the shadows. Their only hope of finding and eliminating the threat is the arrival of a mysterious stranger, one who believes the children and claims to see what they can see. Her name is Erica Slaughter. She kills monsters. That is all she does, and she bears the cost because it MUST be done.
