Session 3 Recap
Our Heros find themselves sheltering from the cold throughout the night in the perilous wasteland of the arctic tundra. Surviving the night they awaken to realize they still need a mode of transportation for their iron cargo and pushing just simply isn't an option for the boys. They end up using clever ideas, some left over potions and a few solidly timed rolls to befriend a group of wolves to aid them in there travels. They make the long Journey back to Brynn Shander and along the way find out some interesting things about each other and their captive Isobai. They find out some of the comings and goings of Karkolohk including their fear…ful leader Yarg Gnock and some of the advanced technologies he may have in his possession.
Upon arriving near the south east gate of Byrnn they manage to finally lose the control of their wolfen escort and at the same time discover the footprints of many many orcs heading towards Brynn Shander. As they reach the top of a crest they look down to see the orcs are engaging the city and the group makes the decision to give immediate aid. They leave their cargo in the trusting hands of their seemingly helpless captive and rush off to save the day. They engage the enemy from behind who are literally battering down the gates of the city and appear to be bolstered by the shouting commands of their leader. The group notices 2 distinct banners being held by the orcs, one with a severed hand the other with a burning tree. Noticing the leader controlling the battlefield, Edrik takes charge of the situation and gets a solid vantage point to take aim at the Leader, nearly blowing his torso off. Badly hurt but made from the tough stuff orcs are now for the leader Gollick gives chase after Edrick and drops him with his great axe like a bad habit. Edrik appears to be fucked with other party members out of sight and out of reach.
Meanwhile, our missing rogue companion has taken up the city's call to war and is aiding in their cause and Kruug is knee deep in the midst of battle with Ondrej and Sorn backing him up the best they can. For all their efforts, the city appears to have been caught unprepared and is being overwhelmed, not to mention Edrik is on his last breath, down again, and being held up for the kill by Gollick as his orcs chant feverishly for the kill. At this point, just when all seems to be lost, Kruug seems to, out of nowhere, summon an Orc Chief he seemingly helped in the past. This Orc Chief turns out to be the spirit of King Oblould’s son of the tribe of Many Arrows. This new Orc pulls some serious rank on Gollick and not only is Edriks life saved but the remaining orcs of the 2 lesser tribes retreat back out into the tundra running their way back to the Spine of the World. The orc thanks Kruug, Kruug thanks the Orc, and everyone is a bit lost as to what just happened. Edrik is stabilised, no one important dies and we will begin Session 4 to find out how the companions will be received by the city. Will they get a hero’s welcome? Or did they bring the Orcs? Will they be allowed back in? Will Izobai manage to take off with all that iron or will he stay and beg mercy from his captors? Will Venith remain hidden in the shadows?
