I’m Jason Probst, the host of Kansas Matters. I’ve always enjoyed learning about the towns that dot the Kansas landscape. And I’ve always enjoyed learning about the people who call Kansas home - and whose lives are filled with interesting stories waiting to be told.

I built a career in journalism, telling the stories of our community and writing commentary that influenced policy and held Kansas government accountable. I’ve spent almost 8 years as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives. This experience has given me additional insight and understanding - which I’ll use to simplify the legislative process.
