Morning Office
In the name of the Father
And of the Son
And of the Holy Spirit.
We stand in the first light of the day of the Lord.
How awesome is this place!
This is none other than the house of God,
This is the gate of heaven.
My house will be called a house of prayer.
One thing I have asked of the Lord
And this is what I seek
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life
To behold the beauty of the Lord
And to seek him in his temple.
How lovely is your dwelling-place, O Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord.
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
I love the house where you live, O Lord,
The place where your glory dwells.
Lord, where else would we be?
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ,
King of endless glory.
Reading & Prayers
Lord, be in this house and in our waking.
Lord, be in this house and in our working.
Lord, be in this house and in our welcoming.
This day and every day.
May we know your presence in our worship,
May we know your power in our witness,
May we know your peace in our words.
This day and every day.
Lord, be in the face of all we meet
Lord, be in the heart of all we love
Lord, be in the life of all we bless.
This day and every day.
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you
Wherever He may send you,
May He guide you through the wilderness,
Protect you through the storm,
May He bring you home rejoicing
At the wonders He has shown you,
May He bring you home rejoicing
Once again into our doors.
In the name of the Father
And of the Son
And of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
