  • サマリー

  • You may recognise the name Carla Molinaro. Back in July she made national news when she broke the world record for running from Lands End to John ‘O’ Groats. Finishing in 12 days and 30 minutes.

In this episode we talk about Carla's Record breaking run. We discuss the planning that goes into such a record attempt, the importance of having a team by your side, and question how to find the right balance of running and sleeping. Carla shares stories from the 12 days and tells us why the 30 minutes annoys her. She reminisces on past ultras and talks about her plans for future challenges. We discuss Carla's training and look at what it takes to mentally, to take on the incomprehensible. We debate running poles, and why leathery, 95 year old fell runners disapprove of there use.

The day we spoke with Carla, she had just received her certificate from 'Guiness world records', she speaks with great enthusiasm and humility about officially becoming a world record holder. And explains the implications her acheivements have had on her sibling rivalry.
