Joyful. For me at the opportunity to interview my friend Laura Terech, Democratic candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives. We dug deep about her experiences and motivation -- as a teacher and political activist -- to run for public office.

"Hurtful."  Was how she described decades of public education neglect by the Republican majority in the AZ Legislature.

Pride. What Laura feels as a running mate to Senator Christine Marsh in LD 4 due to Christine's commitment to public education and her guts to stay in the arena despite enduring family tragedies.

Grateful. To have Laura as the kind of friend who encouraged me and others  to challenge ourselves to speak up on the issues before the Legislature to help make a difference.
