Lentil is one of my major plant based super food. Eating 1/3 cup of lentil a day would wade-off chronic illnesses in human body . Lentil contains high amounts of fibre required for the body to fight high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure diabetes, liver conditions, skin irritations, hair problems and most especially lentil is heart friendly. The plant based chemical in lentil called polyphenols is anti-inflammatory, antioxidants which repairs cells damage . Lentil has low glycemic index and anti- ageing properties . Interestingly, lentil is very affordable and available. However, consult with your GP before you make lentil a staple food .
