  • 1: LTATM Ep1 Part 1 Inspiring new musicians
    2024/10/02
Sean from Lust for Glory (of Spokane, WA) and Corey Wold (once from 21 Day Coma but now in Pure Energy) come onto the show to help inspire young artists and musicians who are just trying to break out on their own, like Keith from CHAOS 101.

To kick things off, we will share tips on how to get started in the music industry. I asked Sean and Corey to share their personal journeys in the music industry, hoping that they can encourage and inspire new musicians like Keith. Corey and Sean have a lot to share in this first episode so we will post it in two parts.

  • 2: LTATM Ep1 Part 2: Inspiring new musicians
    2024/10/09
In the second part of our first episode, we will focus on getting started in the music industry. Corey will start by chatting with Keith; after that, Sean will join in and ask Keith more questions before we all come back together for the rest of the show. They talk with Keith to get to know him and learn what inspires him in electro music. Turns out Keith's biggest inspiration is his uncle, who performs in a jazz and blues band in Arizona known as Soul Essential.

Sean, Corey, and Shels have known each other for a long time and share in a conversation how they started and what inspired them to become musicians or performers. If you want more information on the guest co-hosts, please visit LetsTalkAboutTheMusic.com.

  • 2: LTATM Ep 2 - Working as a Full-Time Musicians
    2024/10/16
    The Heart of Networking
Let's Talk About The Music has always been known for its emphasis on networking since it was created back in 2015. LTATM aimed from the beginning to facilitate connections between music industry individuals, whether it’s collaborations over musical styles, hosting a controversial conversation, or highlighting a touring opportunity.

That same passion lives on in the NEW Let’s Talk About The Music, where musicians from different backgrounds and states (or perhaps even other countries) come together to converse about the world of music.

    Episode 2 - Working as a Full-time Musician

In Episode 2, we are connecting with Meghanne Storey, a passionate and talented musician from the Pacific Northwest. Her style of music is a soulful blend with blues and perfectly suits many different environments in the music scene. She is working full-time as a musician while studying for her master’s degree.

Then we introduce two young ladies who are no strangers to making a living as full-time musicians: Melody and Evita from Way Past Midnight out of New Jersey. Melody's whole family either loves music or are musicians themselves — shown by "Melody” being her real name. Evita grew up in the music business and is known for her outstanding roles in many productions.

    On the Episode:

These three ladies come from two different worlds but gather together on one fabulous podcast. They will share with you how they have managed the demanding effort required to work full-time as musicians. Have a listen, learn something, and see if you can apply their experiences to your own situation.

  • 3: LTATM Ep3 Musicians in the Military
    2024/10/23
Welcome to Episode 3 of Let's Talk About The Music, where we explore the unique experiences of musicians in the military. Throughout our discussion we'll also touch on various aspects of music.
Before we dive in, here are some interesting facts:
    • As of 2020, the World Bank reported there were 27,406,000 (twenty-seven million, four hundred six thousand) armed forces personnel worldwide, including active duty and paramilitary forces.
    • In 2024, Global Firepower’s Military Strength Ranking listed the USA as number 1 and Australia as number 16.
    • The United States Armed Forces has approximately 6,500 military musicians across 130 units. These military bands serve various roles, from supporting bases and boosting soldier morale to acting as musical ambassadors in peacetime.
Now, Let Me Introduce My Guest Co-hosts:

Here in the PNW, we know Austin and Grace from the alternative emo band Prickly Paranoia. Austin plays the base while his wife Grace (whom he met in the military) plays lead guitar and sings. They perform while also serving as active duty military personnel! Austin is a Veteran Specialist in the National Guard and Grace is an Army Captain, Logistics Branch.

Tony Schmidt is from the Aussie-based band Gen2, currently signed with Golden Robot Records. Established in 2016 in Melbourne, Australia, guitarist and vocalist Tony wished to found a band that mingled the best of old and new music. He has family in the military as well, but he prefers to keep their journey private. We respect his choice and appreciate his willingness to share his own experiences.
