    The Golden Knights will open training camp Thursday and we look at some of the surprises that were invited to participate on the 63-man roster. There are 36 forwards, 21 defensemen and 6 goalies invited to camp. VGK will have three practice sessions at City National on Thursday, Friday and Saturday before Sunday's game at San Jose. We also discuss whether Brendon Brisson makes the opening day roster and if Shea Theodore can make it back to the first power play unit.

    General Manager Kelly McCrimmon says VGK offered Jonathan Marchessault a four-year contract extension, not three years as Marchessault contends. McCrimmon appeared on Sirius Radio's "NHL Morning Skate" Thursday. He said VGK is emotionally attached to its veterans.     Bruce Cassidy on the Sick Podcast said new VGK acquisition Victor Olofsson will begin the season alongside a player he is familiar with - Jack Eichel. He said he thought he did enough good things in the past to deserve a new deal. He said he was not asking for anything outrageous. He said VGK stopped at a 3-year deal and Marchessault wanted four years. He says he personally reached out to VGK brass before entering the free agent market.     For the second time in three years, the Golden Knights led the league in man-games lost this past season. VGK players missed 476 total games due to injury. They had a league-high of more than 500 games missed two seasons ago, when they missed the playoffs. VGK bowed out of the playoffs this past season after just one round, losing to Dallas in seven. We also discuss the shaping of Trevor Connolly's image. The first rounder is considered a risk due to off-the-ice issues.
