-I don't want to undermine how devastating it would be for our area to lose the Rays, but I will be a die hard fan of this franchise whether they play in TB, Nashville or on Pluto. Your thoughts?

-Thanks for doing this but I spent my weekend reading about the 2028 stadium that will « never » exist and realized that it could be the end of my Rays.

Stu Sternberg made some comments that have not landed well within the fanbase regarding the stadium deal. “Last month, the County Commission upended our ballpark agreement by not approving their bonds, as they promised to do,” team owner Stuart Sternberg said. “That action sent a clear message that we had lost the county as a partner.

“The future of baseball in Tampa Bay became less certain after that vote.”

“..It’s a confluence of events and without the minds here coming together, (relocation) is not an unlikely conclusion.” Why has there been lack of communication between the Rays and government? The Tampa Bay Rays will be playing the 2025 regular season at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, the spring training home of the New York Yankees. After hurricane Milton destroyed Tropicana Field’s roof, the Rays and MLB had been trying to figure out a new, temporary home and Steinbrenner Field is the best-prepared facility in the Tampa Bay region to host regular-season MLB games. Shane Baz returned in 2024 from Tommy John surgery and was able to log almost 80 innings with plenty of positives to take away.
