  • "NO SCALPS"
    2025/04/23

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is in the middle of another scandal over using Signal, again, for the same sensitive or classified information he exposed last time. Just like last time, he's fighting back, but is more out of control than he was before. Grant talks about this latest scandal and what's been happening behind the scenes at the White House.

Then, Trump calls his own bluff again. This time, after weeks of calling for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to resign or working to find ways to fire him, he says he won't do that. Grant breaks down how that happens and what it means for the economy.

Finally, Elon Musk says he's on his way out, but not for good. After Tesla's stock dropped this week and Musk is getting increasingly more sensitive about the things his critics are saying, he's going to take a back seat for the rest of the administration.

All of it comes together under the new White House mantra, No Scalps. Grant breaks it all down.

  • Who Rules The Law Anyway? (W/ Andrew Torrez)
    2025/04/18

It's been a busy week for the US Courts starting with the high profile case of Kilmar Abrego-Garcia, the man mistakenly sent to El Salvador and who the Trump Administration refuses to return. Grant breaks down a scathing new ruling in that case and talks about Sen. Chris Van Hollen's visit to the Central American country to find Abrego-Garcia.

Plus, the US Supreme Court says it's going to take on Trump's challenge to birthright citizenship, setting up a fight over who gets to be an American, who doesn't, and what that could mean for the rest of us.

To help break it all down, Grant talks to Andrew Torrez, co-host of the Law and Chaos podcast who gives his thoughts on each case plus whether we're already in a constitutional crisis.

  • Are Americans Really That Special?
    2025/04/16

It's been a whirlwind way to start the week in the world of immigration. A huge ruling was made by a judge in the case to stop deportations to El Salvador. The judge says he's ready to charge the Trump Administration with contempt of court for disobeying his orders. Grant has some breaking news in that story.

Then, he talks about the Kilmar Abrego-Garcia case and how the government is disobeying a judge there, how the administration is changing its reasons for sending him to an El Salvadorian prison, and where that case stands.

Plus, the biggest news this week, (so far) President Donald Trump says he wants to deport US citizens to one of the world's deadliest prisons. A likely illegal plan that sent shockwaves through the US legal world on Monday.

  • Your Life Will Never Be The Same
    2025/04/11

    A triple-decker episode this week!

Grant takes a look at what the fallout has been from President Donald Trump's tariff turnabout earlier this week because it turns out the effects are going to be felt for a long, long time.

Then there were three big things from this week's cabinet meeting. RFK Jr makes a big promise about autism diagnoses, Elon Musk massively downgrades DOGE "savings" and Pete Hegseth blinks on Panama.

Finally, it's been a busy week in immigration. A potentially landmark case plays out in Maryland and it looks like the administration might be ignoring a Supreme Court order to return a man who was mistakenly deported while the government strips protections, financial access and due process from hundreds of thousands of people.

  • The Great American Retreat (W/ Dr. Scott Greer)
    2025/04/04

On the show this week, Donald Trump lays out his "liberation day" tariff plan to put tariffs on pretty much everything coming into the US. Grant breaks down why these tariffs have sent the economy into a nose dive, why they mean the US is shrinking from the world, and whether Trump is doing it on purpose.

Plus! The US is shrinking from global public health too. The CDC, FDA, NIH, and pretty much every agency under the newly renamed HHS now AHA (Administration for a Healthy America) saw massive staffing cuts and lay-offs. Grant talks with University of Michigan School of Public Health Dr. Scott Greer about what it means for America to no longer lead the medical world and what it means for health worldwide.

  • It's Bigger Than Signal w/ Fmr. National Archives Lawyer Jason R Baron
    2025/03/28

Grant talks with Prof. Jason R Baron from the University of Maryland. Baron was the former litigator for the National Archives and spent more than 20 years working with archivists and fighting for Americans' access to government records and information.

He and Grant talk about the Signal chat that included attack plans and, accidentally, Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg, whether it might have broken the law and why it's a problem if we can't keep track of government conversations for records.
