Today we are making Mattar Paneer Curry, which is a Vegetarian Indian dish! Not sure what Mattar Paneer is? Mattar paneer is a vegetarian Indian curry made with peas and paneer which is a type of soft Indian cheese and it's DELISH!!! It is often served with rice and Naan. The dish is made by simmering peas and paneer in a spiced tomato sauce. Mattar paneer is a popular dish in North India, which is where my husband Sukrit is from. My kids LOOOVVVEEEEE this dish!!! If you are serving Indian food to someone for the first time, I prefer to make this dish!! Hope you try and enjoy!!
Utensils:
~ Your fav pan to cook in
~ something to stir with
~ water for deglazing
Ingredients:
2~ medium tomatoes chopped
1~ Large onion chopped
1~ block Paneer~ most stores sell the same size block BESIDES Costco. You'll know when you cut it up how much will feed your family adequately.
1~ bayleaf
Oil~ your choice of what you use daily
1 tablespoon ~ginger/garlic paste or a bit chopped of both
Salt to taste
1/2 tablespoon~ turmeric
1/2 tablespoon~ coriander
1/2 tablespoon~ garam masala
~ Kashmiri Mirch (chilli powder) OPTIONAL, per your spicy level
1 cup~ Peas (Frozen or fresh)
Water~ as needed
