Join me for a fun and informative episode with Veterinarian Rachael-Nelson Smith. Ever wondered how a childhood fear can transform into a lifelong passion, and even profession? That was the case with Rachael, who was terrified of dogs as a child and now is not just a dog mom, but a veterinarian. You’ll hear what her parents did when she was young that helped her to overcome her fear of dogs. And then you’ll learn about her journey from wanting to be a doctor for humans, to realizing that her true calling was to be a veterinarian.

Join our lively discussion as Rachael enlightens us about the three most common mistakes pet parents make, along with other great advice. She also shares with us the challenges and rewards that she experiences in her work as a veterinarian. Don’t miss this episode, from which you’ll learn, laugh (Rachael shares about her dog Penny, who’s quite a character), smile – and be glad that Rachael’s parents addressed her fear of dogs (in quite a unique way) when she was young and that she went on to become a veterinarian, helping lots of pets and the people who love them.

Join me, Rabbi Robyn Frisch, for this inspiring episode in which I talk with Greg Fox, who shares about his transformative career shift from working in the corporate world to becoming development director at a municipal animal shelter. Learn how Greg leveraged his network and implemented innovative ideas to successfully create significant new revenue channels. His initiatives have not only brought in essential funds for the shelter, but they’ve also engaged the community and inspired the next generation of donors and adopters.Listening to Greg, you’ll hear about the rewarding and heartwarming and also the challenging aspects of working with animal shelters as we discuss the emotional realities faced by both staff and volunteers. Greg also shares his aspirations for the future – and, to put it mildly, Greg thinks BIG. But if there’s anyone who’ll be able to bring their dreams to help shelter dogs to reality, I have no doubt that it’s Greg.We also discuss the power of small actions in supporting animal adoption, from fostering to social media engagement. If you want to help out by following the Voorhees Animal Orphanage, you can follow them on Instagram @vaonjorg and on Facebook at Voorhees Animal Orphanage.
