She has a BSW from Toronto Metropolitan University, an MSW from the University of Manitoba, and a PhD in social work from the University of Calgary. She has a broad range of clinical experiences including being a civilian Clinical Social Worker for the Canadian Forces for several years. Her doctoral thesis was titled, "What Makes Strong Canadian Military Marriages Strong?". Additionally, her husband served for 25 years, near the entirety of their married life thus far. She was also a provider of clinical services to retired veterans.

    Elena lives in Ottawa, ON, Canada with her family. She is a Certified Resilience Coach, Author of 'Greatness Finds A Way', and a Motivational Speaker. She is quite active on social media and runs a free Facebook Group called: Resilience, Courage and Realness.

    After graduating from Palmer Chiropractic College – West Campus, Dr. Tom Waldorf became a project manager on a research grant for the school, studying low-back injuries sustained by those on-the-job.
