  • The Decline and Fall of Merry Old England

by Paul Britten-Austin & Margareta Bergman

A childrens story for grown-ups. This quirky tale follows Mixie, a kind-hearted soul who attracts a motley crew of misfits to her humble abode. From a grumpy Scotsman obsessed with stars to a mysterious creature named Mr. Muddle, Mixie's house is a haven for the eccentric. With hilarious encounters and heartwarming moments, this story is a delightful blend of humor and satire on the English and their way of life.

    MIXIE, TRIXIE & THE SOLDIER

(the decline and fall of Merry Old England)

A pop-up book if ever there was one for all who love England and who still haven't quite grown up.

Have you ever wondered what on earth goes on at 99 Acacia Avenue, Humpworth (West)?

In Mixie's big heart there's room for everyone - not only for the handsome Soldier, but also for those two egocentrics Professor McOlogy (Nobel Prize- winning inventor of Black Holes) and her husband Trixie (who claims he's a genius and collects dynamite in the back room). Even perhaps for the intolerable Mrs Marion Q. Honeysuckle and her herb teas and lethal knitting needles. Then there's her dear Mr Muddle, who's never quite sure whether he's a man or a dog. And perpetual-motion Teadrop, who doesn't give any of us a moment's peace. And poor Snoopy, who's chums with Poirot and Sherlock Holmes.
