あらすじ・解説
This Japanese folktale tells of Fujiwara Hidesato, a brave warrior who confronts a giant dragon blocking a bridge, only to learn it is the Dragon King. The King asks Hidesato to defeat a monstrous centipede that is plaguing his underwater kingdom. Hidesato agrees and, after his first two arrows fail, cleverly uses his last arrow coated with saliva to kill the giant creature. As a reward for his bravery and ingenuity, the grateful Dragon King gifts Hidesato magical items, including a bag of rice that never empties, an endless roll of silk, and a pan that cooks anything, ensuring Hidesato's prosperity and earning him the nickname "My Lord Bag of Rice."
