    The Mystery of the Somerton Man

    During an evening stroll at the tail end of November in 1948, a couple walking along Somerton beach in South Australia noticed a man laying on the ground with his back leaned against a seawall. Our first episode in what I plan to be a two-parter will focus mostly (though not completely) on what direct witnesses of the man stated during a Coronial Inquest some months after his discovery. From common passersby to medical examiners and police officers, they gave their testimonies, and the details from these reports arose the building blocks of a mystery that hasn't been solved some 70+ years later.     A UFO was said to have gone down in the summer of 1948 about 40 miles southwest of Laredo, Texas. This episode we'll explore all the details surrounding this story, and see if there is any plausibility to these claims. It was stories like this one that used to keep me up until the early hours of the morning when I was a kid, where I spent my weekend nights combing the net for stories of the unknown. I enjoyed focusing on one subject for this episode, and hope to do more episodes like this in the future.

    On this episode we check out three different examples of ghost ships and their stories, including a merchant vessel that, for a time, was a luxury yacht of the Hollywood elite, a once proud five-masted schooner run aground under mysterious circumstances, and the bizarre tale of a freighter ship found drifting with the entirety of it's crew deceased on board. This one was a bit of a challenge to put together, I honestly didn't really know what I wanted to do with it while I was gathering the information. Eventually, I got a clearer picture of how I wanted to share these stories with you all, and this episode is the result! Thanks for checking it out!
