  • I guess we’re making up genres now | Spotify Wrapped
    2022/12/14

We’re back from an unplanned hiatus with some short lived ASMR, marginally helpful hacks and Apple Music slander. Also, News with NTP has made a surprising comeback and may be here to stay. We’ve released our statement about the naming of ‘Goblin Mode’ as Word of the Year and warn you about what might happen if you start siphoning gas. Eventually we do get around to sharing our 2022 Spotify Wrappeds with only a few interruptions by my digital assistants. We may be not be experts, but we're Not Too piano with our music opinions. (god, i hope someone gets that)

  • In case you're wondering, demons like St. Louis | The Exorcism of Roland Doe
    2022/10/31

Happy Halloween friends! We're rounding out our month of spooky stories with Elle telling everyone the true story of The Exorcist. Before we get there though you've got Punkin Chunkin, American Idol and pie (it is the piecast 2.0 so...). Information about The Exorcist came from the movie's IMDB page and case info came from All That's Interesting (truly, this series wouldn't exist without them) and Wikipedia. Modern updates provided by Skeptical Inquirer, The Guardian and IFL Science. So grab your candy bucket, plug in your haunted house sound machine and take a listen because there's No Tossed Pea soup here.

  • Don't bring a knife to a gunfight, but a podcast is fine | Hauntings of Raynham Hall
    2022/10/24

You may have heard of a podcast, but have you heard of a PIEcast? Listen to the dulcet tones of Jay finally making use of all her apples by making pie (mini ones, almost like this episode lol). After we introduce you to our allergies (just in case we ask one of you to become our emergency contacts) and remind you that we have never grown up (we still eat and spell like we're in elementary school), we tell you a story about the horrors of vegetable peelers and tales of poisoning! Okay so they're not the story, but we really do. This episode also introduces a new segment, News with NTP, covering the latest major news; reviews were low so it's unlikely to make a comeback, should we fight to keep it or quit while we're ahead? What say you Liz? Once we finally get around to it Jay tells us about a few remaining souls at Raynham Hall, borrowing information from The Little House of Horrors, Burials & Beyond and Whistling Shade. Jay finally rounds us out with a horror movie review of Candyman (1992). Anyway, thanks for listening and I hope this is Not Too (much) Pie, because Piecast 2.0 comes next week!

Oh and if anyone wants to know, Jay did not pick up that apple the next day.

  • Middle of the night giggling is a whole lot scarier when you remember there's no kids in the house... | Robert the Doll
    2022/10/17

We've hit the midpoint of our spooky October series and I (Elle) am back telling you and Jay all about Robert the Doll. But don't worry, we make sure to take you through a whole range of emotion by starting off the episode will Jay's latest illness, COVID coincidences, my own personal tragedy and Bruce. Research for the main event came from Episode 15 of Lore, an AtlasObscura article, an AllThatIsInteresting article, and his very own website. If you're anything like us, this episode is going to make sure you're Not Too Playful especially when it comes to the next time you're in the vicinity of a doll. (Honestly, does anyone actually read these?)

  • Sometimes nature might just be the scariest thing of them all... | Dyatlov Pass Incident
    2022/10/10

We're back with out second instalment of spooky stories this month! This week Jay tells me all about the Dyatlov Pass Incident (In summary: another reason to avoid Russian winters). It's a real one, and a gory one at that, so if gore and death are an issue there is a trigger warning for 31:56 to 55:30. Her research came primarily from an AllThatIsInteresting article by John Kuroski and a Nature article by Johan Gaume and Alexander M. Puzrin plus there's a website entirely dedicated to the incident here. After hearing all about it, I'm sure you, like me will be glad your life is Not Too Perilous (that is unless you're a winter hiker in Russia. If you are, how'd you end up here?)

  • It's the most wonderful time of the year! Let's get spooky. | Midnight Mary
    2022/10/02

It's spooky season so we decided to get festive by telling you (and each other) creepy stories. This week I (Elle) told Jay about Midnight Mary, a "hometown" haunting for me. Well, at least I tried to, until we got distracted... a lot. Research came from Episode 1 of the Lore Podcast TV Series on Amazon Prime Video, Jessica Lerner's 2017 New Haven Register article ('Midnight Mary' continues to haunt Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven), and a Damned Connecticut article by Ray Bandici. I also leave you with some maybe helpful advice from Worst-Case Scenario.com. Hope we'll still be Not Too Possessed by the end of the month? (Are these starting to be too much of a stretch?)

  • Bachelorette parties are not your best watering hole...
    2022/06/11
You're seeing a different side to us this time, the one where we've just rolled out of bed... or as I like to call it, "Not Too Perky". In this morning show variation, we're covering the bachelorette parties which we've just attended but in true NTP fashion we take breaks for Wordle, to complain about Jeffrey Bezos and discuss oven storage. Apparently the fact that we are not morning people means we are especially not morning podcasting people so its a bit of a mess. Enjoy? • So you want to know who we are? Ask the stars!
    2022/03/22
Sorry, did you want to know who we are? I realised that we never introduced ourselves last time (oops!) so now get ready for way too much information about our psyches featuring...our birth charts! We know nothing about astrology so this is basically a mess. There's also debating DILFs, beer banter and personifying plants so please enjoy. And no, its not any more professional than the last, maybe we should have named it 'Not Too Professional'... oh well, too late.  Music: Dark 'n' Stormy by Shane Ivers - https://www.silvermansound.com  Dark 'n' Stormy is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License by Shane Ivers of silvermansound.com.
