Three things we need to keep in mind

1. God Empowers us for every assignment (He fulfills His promises): The Holy Spirit descends on the apostles, enabling them to speak in various tongues.

There are many benefits of miracles in our lives, here are a few that we see in this chapter

1. Healing : God makes people's lives well
2. Proof: God proves that His word is true and confirms it with signs and wonders.
3. Attraction : Miracles attract people's attention to receive the good news of the Kingdom of God.

We see the Church's commitment to preaching the gospel regardless of the persecution breaking out.

This is a confirmation and reminder of Matthew 11:12 "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force." (NKJV

A key lesson is the danger of self-deception, as illustrated by the story of Ananias and Sapphira, who lied about their generosity.

This serves as a powerful reminder that honesty and integrity are foundational to our walk with God and our relationships with one another.

By being truthful with ourselves and others, we cultivate a genuine faith that fosters authentic community and reflects the character of Christ, allowing the church to thrive as a testament to His love and truth.

Acts 6 and 7 highlight the significance of wisdom and the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers, as demonstrated through the example of Stephen, one of the first deacons. Chosen for his faith and filled with the Spirit, Stephen embodies the call to serve and communicate the truth of God boldly.

His powerful testimony and unwavering faith, even in the face of persecution, remind us that true wisdom comes from a deep relationship with God, empowering us to navigate challenges with grace and conviction. As we strive to be vessels of His Spirit, we are encouraged to act justly, serve selflessly, and stand firm in our faith, knowing that our lives can be a powerful witness to others.

Acts 8 recounts significant events in the early church, focusing on the spread of the Gospel amidst persecution. Here’s a summary:

1. Persecution and Scattering: Following Stephen's martyrdom, a wave of persecution led by Saul breaks out against the church in Jerusalem. Many believers are scattered throughout Judea and Samaria, but they continue to preach the Gospel.

2. Philip in Samaria: Philip, one of the seven deacons, goes to Samaria and shares the message of Christ. His preaching leads to many conversions, and he performs miraculous signs, including healing the sick and casting out demons. The city experiences great joy as people respond to the message.

3. Simon the Sorcerer: Among those who believe is Simon, a sorcerer who had amazed the people with his magic. After witnessing Philip’s miracles, he is baptized. However, he later tries to buy the power of the Holy Spirit, prompting a strong rebuke from Peter, who warns him about the seriousness of his intentions.

4. Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch: The Holy Spirit directs Philip to the road from Jerusalem to Gaza, where he encounters an Ethiopian eunuch reading from the book of Isaiah. Philip explains the Scripture, leading the eunuch to faith in Christ. After baptizing him, Philip is miraculously transported to another location, continuing his ministry elsewhere.

Overall, Acts 8 highlights the resilience of the early church, the transformative power of the Gospel, and the expanding mission beyond Jerusalem, showing how God uses adversity to advance His purposes.
