In 2007, Darlene Ewalt was on the phone with her friend, Chet, planning their upcoming vacation in the Caribbean. After 4 hours on the phone, Chet heard Darlene suddenly say in a trembling voice "oh my God" then it went silent. He screamed her name several times but all he could hear was the sound of leaves crunching as if someone was walking away. At 2am, he rushes over there to find a gruesome scene. Thanks to Hurricane Helene and the havoc wreaked on our wonderful communities, we're posting a throwback episode this week and re-airing episode 29. This horrific crime took place on Halloween night.
