  • REPLAY Ep. 229 Finding Your Purpose Even If You Don't Love What You Are Doing Now
    2024/12/31
We are taking a couple of weeks to enjoy the Winter Season and while we are out we wanted to share with you one of the most popular Simply Said episodes from a couple of years ago. We will be back in 2025 with all new shows to help us live well, do good, and be happy. We hope you enjoy this 2023 episode of Simply Said. You Write the Definition Is it possible to live a life of meaning and purpose even if we are in a dead-end job? Yes. And doing that might be the secret to a happy life. When we live a life of meaning and identify with our purpose, research shows we live healthier, happier lives. Yet, we all have roles and responsibilities that may feel less than fulfilling. Even then it is possible to connect with our purposes and find meaning by looking at the patterns in our lives and recognizing the times we feel devoid of purpose and connected to it. Our purpose doesn't diminish based on our jobs or responsibilities, but how we express it will change throughout our lives. By reframing the moments of our lives, evaluating our values, and defining what success means to us we can create meaningful, satisfying, purposeful lives in even the most difficult circumstances. In this week's episode, Polly explains how using questions to prompt reflection can help us move closer to the meaningful lives we want to live. 2024/12/24
REPLAY: We are taking a couple of weeks to enjoy the Winter Season and while we are out we wanted to share with you one of the most popular Simply Said episodes, about coping with loss during the holidays. We will be back in 2025 with all new shows to help us live well, do good, and be happy. May you find peace, comfort, and support value in this early episode of Polly Campbell Simply Said. The holidays can be hard for many who are suffering from grief and loss, says bereavement counselor and author of Opening to Grief, Claire Willis. Often we feel it deeply during this time. And that's nothing to be ashamed of. Grief is an ongoing, normal, and natural response to loss. And it's OK to do what you need to cope with it this time of year--even if it means changing how you celebrate.
