The beauty of the quiet - until suddenly! An Angel of the Lord appears to share a life-changing message. We begin this episode with an interactive experience: imagining life as a shepherd that wondrous night so long ago.

We’re walking through the story of the shepherds' experience in the Christmas story, from the book of Luke. What an awesome experience the shepherds must have had. In this episode:

We’re talking about Joseph in the Christmas Story today!

Mary was betrothed to Joseph when he became aware that she was with child. What does it mean to be betrothed? What type of man was Joseph?

Joseph's actions in the Christmas story were telling of his character. Joseph is called “son of David” in the book of Matthew. Joseph is from the lineage of David, and part of Isaiah's prophecy to bring Jesus here: “Immanuel, God with us”, to save us from our sins. Joseph plays an important role! He’s a part of something bigger than himself.

• Joseph learning of Mary being with child and his plan of action
• How the Angel of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream, and what he shared
• The arrival in Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus in a manger
