In this episode, we talk with the amazing Kerri Isham. Kerri is a fellow SEA member (Sex Education Alliance) and the founder and lead educator at Power Up Education. Kerri creates programming for adults who care for children and trains them to develop a culture of child protection. Programming includes sexual health education for children and youth with special needs and information regarding the long-term impacts of pornography (plus so much more). Why? Because Kerri, like me, believes it takes a village to create change for our most precious resource - our children. Listen as we discuss the massive responsibility of being a sex educator, the connection between sex education and mental health, and grandparents as sex educators. Kerri also shares her recipe for sex education curricula for youth, including early exposure, honesty, consent, how to identify trusted adults, and the difference between safe, unsafe, and secret touch.
