In this fourth installment in the “Throne of Glass” series, we continue with the story of Celaena Sardotien, a formidable assassin who is actually Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, the lost heir to the throne of Terrasen. The novel picks up with Aelin returning to Adarlan, the kingdom she once fled, with the intention of freeing her people from the tyrannical rule of the King of Adarlan. She allies herself with old friends and new companions, including the Fae warrior Rowan Whitethorn. As she orchestrates a rebellion against the King’s forces, Aelin also confronts the dark secret surrounding her lineage and the powers she possesses. Meanwhile, a new threat emerges in the form of the Valg, malevolent creatures that threaten to consume the world. Aelin and her allies seek to retrieve powerful magical artifacts known as Wyrdkeys to prevent the Valg from gaining ultimate power.
