  • Episode 65 | Four Mothers and Peer Support
    2025/03/22

James is joined by Adam McBride from LGBT Ireland to discuss the biggest stories affecting the community this week, including the banning of Pride events in Hungary as well as the range of Peer Support groups that are around Ireland.

He's also joined by writers and director Colin and Darren Thornton to talk about their new movie 'Four Mothers'. The film tells the story of an author whose plans for a book tour are thrown into disarray when he's suddenly saddled with taking care of four elderly women after his own mother suffers from a stroke.

Psychotherapist Jeff Logan joins to talk about the forces of shame and lonlieness in LGBT youth. Shame can push people away from living their lives to the fullest and lonlieness can create fears of rejection that can further entrap them in their own isolation. He discusses how judgement-free and patient spaces can help people overcome those feelings.
